School Profile

Griffith Public School  has a large multicultural community of over twenty different cultural backgrounds. The largest of these groups are children from Tonga, Fiji, and Samoa. Twenty percent of the School's population is made up of Koori (Aboriginal) students.

Kalinda SSP moved into the grounds in 1991.

The School had been awarded with five Director General Awards:

  • 1988 - Meeting Local Needs

  • 1989 - Carnivale: A Multicultural Focus

  • 1993 - Integration Programs in conjunction with Kalinda SSP

  • 1995 - Quality Aboriginal Programs in Conjunction with Griffith High School

  • 2001 - ANZAC Day celebration "Being there is what it's all about."

Griffith Public School has been declared a Priority School, which means that many of our children come from homes with low incomes and this qualifies the school for a Federal Grant which supplies the resources needed for Specialist Support Staff and Programs.
